Our Piccolo bio-based pouches are a 1st to the UK baby food market & we are really proud to launch this packaging innovation as part of our continued efforts to improve our sustainability.
But how are these pouches greener we hear you ask?
Without delving into a chemistry lesson (although we’d recommend further reading of the links below if you do want to do that) let us sum it up:
- Our bio-pouches are made from 80% plant derived materials (instead of petroleum)
- This means they are a more sustainable* plastic and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease non-renewable energy consumption vs. standard plastics. This is because they are made from renewable resources – plants – instead of non-renewable (such as crude oil).
You’ll find our bio based pouches used across our Piccolo Pure range and our ‘Piccolo & Go’ multi packs.
We’re hoping to roll this innovation out across more of our range in the future; stay tuned for more info there, and look out for the ‘greener pouch’ logo on our packs.
