Piccolo and City Harvest team up!

Nobody likes seeing good food go to waste, and sadly each day, plenty of safe and healthy food is thrown away while thousands of Londoners go hungry.

We want to do what we can here at Piccolo to give back and care for the planet, so we’re delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with City Harvest, a charity fighting food waste in London by saving meals and giving them to those who need them most.

We are proud to have donated more than a quarter of a million meals so far to children relying on foodbanks across the UK, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon. Next year, we’re working hard to bring another 100,000 baby food pouches to families who need them most with City Harvest.

Our mission is to help local families in giving every child the best start in life, one meal at a time. That’s why we’re really excited to join forces with City Harvest as they put healthy, wholesome food to good use in a sustainable way.

On top of food collections, City Harvest also deliver more than 16,000 meals each month to playgroups, homework clubs, sports activities, cookery courses, mentorship – and the list goes on! All their food donations go towards programmes that help give kids the chance to gain confidence and skills.

About City Harvest

City Harvest is a charity that collects this nutritious surplus food from all segments of the food industry including restaurants, grocers, manufacturers, wholesalers, hotels and caterers and delivers free of charge to more than 300 organisations that feed the city’s most vulnerable men, women and children. Food donations are welcome from businesses and they enthusiastically welcome volunteers to sort food in their depot and redistribute food with our drivers on their routes across London.
