The Piccolo Cherry

Eastern and southern Europe is well known for its sour cherries, with Spain producing a large number of them. More than 700 farmers grow berries such as cherries near the Kopaonik Mountains. This land has never been anything else but organic, and with traditional farming methods and cooperatives with the local farmers and communities, their production is a truly sustainable operation of which Piccolo loves to be a part.

  • FROM THE KITCHEN

    cherries need to be quartered and de stoned before giving to your little one, but they make a delicious finger food or mixed into fruit salads, crumbles or added to porridge when they are in season.

  • NUTRITIONAL NUGGET

    We use sour cherries as they pack a flavour and nutritional punch. They're chock-full of compounds that are thought to reduce inflammation, have antiviral and antibacterial properties as well as being rich in vitamin A and C. The antioxidant anthocyanin in sour cherries gives them their vibrant pigment.

    Generally, the darker the cherry, the higher the concentration of flavonoids, so better for you!
