With gentle undulating valley’s and vineyards, the traditional farming area of Orleans in France, sitting on the edge of the Beauce plain, along the River Loire, is where we source many of our Piccolo carrots.
FROM THE KITCHEN
Carrots need to be cooked when first introduced to your little one. Either boil, steam or roast. A great food on its own or added to stews with meat or a bean stew.
Like other orange vegetables, carrots are a good source of antioxidants such as vitamin A, C, K, B8, folate, potassium, iron, copper, and manganese.
The classic carrot is an excellent source of vitamin A, and one medium raw carrot is thought to provide almost double your daily requirement of the vitamin! Carrots also come in white, yellow and purple, and when they were first discovered were mistaken for parsnips.
